Founded in 1953 by parents advocating for their children with intellectual and developmental disabilities, The Arc of Dauphin County sought to keep loved ones at home and included in family life rather than in state institutions. These parents became strong advocates for education and social inclusion, even creating their own school.

We improve lives in Cumberland, Dauphin, and Perry counties by identifying pressing community needs, creating solutions, and showing their impact. Our programs address the root causes of challenges facing at-risk communities in the capital region.
