Net Ninjas Tennis

Youth tennis classes that feel like a game, build real skills, and welcome kids who are still figuring out “their sport.”

Ages 3 to 12
Beginner-friendly
Red Ball + Orange Ball
Low-pressure confidence building

Net Ninjas Tennis exists for the kids who want to try something new, the kids who need a confidence boost, and the parents who would love an activity that builds coordination without requiring you to become a full-time sports scheduler. Classes use fun games and step-by-step skill progression so kids learn the fundamentals while feeling successful fast.

Who it’s for

  • Ages 3 to 12.
  • Kids who can follow simple instructions.
  • Kids who are interested in sports, or not sure what their sport is yet.
  • Not athletic? Not a problem. Many tennis kids are not “traditional athletes.”
  • Ages 3 to 5: a parent must be present to assist as needed (or a teacher/assistant for daycare groups).

What to bring

Sneakers, a water bottle, willingness to learn, and a personal tennis racquet.

Racquet size guide:

  • Ages 3 to 5: 19 inch or 21 inch
  • Ages 6 to 9: 21 inch or 23 inch
  • Ages 10 to 12: 23 inch or 25 inch

How Net Ninjas Classes Work

Red Ball (Intro)

Great for brand-new players and typically age 8 and under. Many kids take this level 3 to 4 times before moving up.

  • Pre Ninja: balance and hand-eye coordination
  • Forehand Ninja: forehand basics and aiming
  • Backhand Ninja: backhand basics and aiming
  • Volley Ninja: forehand and backhand volley skills

Orange Ball (Advanced)

For kids who have mastered Red Ball or have a recommendation from another tennis program. Recommended ages are 8 to 12.

  • Lobs Ninja: lobs and overheads
  • Serve Ninja: learning to serve
  • Placement and Footwork Ninja: positioning and control
  • Game Ninja: basics of gameplay

Where does my child belong?

Net Ninjas uses clear “Ninja Levels” so kids can progress without pressure. If your child is brand new, start with Pre Ninja or Red Ball and build from there.

Tip for parents: If your child loves the class but seems “all over the place,” that is normal at first. Tennis is sneaky like that. It builds focus, coordination, and confidence over time.

Why Net Ninjas Exists

Net Ninjas was created by founder Carley Furlow after her own experience wanting to play tennis, but not having affordable local options as a kid. The program was built to introduce younger children to tennis earlier, in a way that is accessible, fun, and rooted in fundamentals.

Why parents love it

It’s truly beginner-friendly

No experience needed. Kids can try, miss, laugh, try again, and still feel like they are winning.

It builds coordination fast

Balance, hand-eye coordination, footwork. All the skills that spill over into every other sport and everyday life.

It’s a confidence builder

Small wins stack up. Kids leave class proud, a little sweaty, and ready to show you their “Ninja” skills.
