Step Back in Time, But Keep the Snacks

Spring has officially clocked in, and Garden Faire at Fort Hunter is back with one of the most charming free family events in the Harrisburg area. This beloved tradition brings together blooming plants, local makers, live music, children’s activities, and just enough Victorian flair to make the whole day feel a little extra magical.

It’s like Bridgerton wandered into a garden center and remembered families need crafts, lawn games, and lunch.

What Families Can Expect

Garden Faire is part plant sale, part craft show, part spring festival, and part excuse to spend the day outside doing something wholesome and photogenic. Families can browse vendors, enjoy delicious lunch options from the Café, admire art, listen to music, and watch Victorian dancing that is either elegant or wildly entertaining depending on the age of the child attempting to join in.

There will be blooming plants, handmade goods, croquet, exhibits, garden chats, and enough lovely scenery to make your phone storage nervous.

Highlights of the Day

Plant & Craft Vendors
Come for one herb plant and somehow leave with handmade pottery, native flowers, and three new aspirations.
Victorian Dancing & Maypole
A springtime classic and a top-tier photo opportunity, especially if your children decide they were born for ribbon dancing.
Live Music & Lawn Games
Expect a soundtrack for your strolling, plus croquet and other old-fashioned fun with big family event energy.

The Children’s Corner is designed to give kids their own little pocket of spring magic, with hands-on activities that make this event feel wonderfully family-friendly and not just politely family-tolerant.

This is the kind of event where adults get to browse plants and art while kids stay busy creating, exploring, and having a genuinely good time.

Parent note
If you enjoy events where your kids are occupied and you get to pretend you are leisurely strolling through a garden festival, this is an excellent life choice.
